In 2023, the Faculty of Humanities organised the public programme Decolonial Dialogues@Humanities. In March 2024, the report Decolonial Dialogues@Humanities: Learnings, Recommendations, Scenarios was offered to the Faculty Board. The report reflects on the results of the project, makes recommendations and outlines future scenarios for the room.
The report contains a number of scenarios for possible future use and layout of the room, and provides a number of broader recommendations. To make this concrete, the Faculty Board has asked delegates from the DD@H programme to help think about how to proceed. During this lunch meeting, dean Marieke de Goede will give a brief feedback on the report and the discussions with the participation councils. Editorial board members Chiara De Cesari and Judith Noorman and Faculty Diversity Officer Kristine Johanson will briefly look back at the programme and outline the approach for the future use and layout of the room.
One of the recommendations of the report is to change the name of the room. During this lunch meeting, a namestorm will be organised to jointly think about an appropriate new name for the hall. The results of this namestorm will then be proposed to the faculty community via a poll.
