After recently studying BA and MA degrees in English Language, Literature and Culture at the UvA English Department, Ibe Rossel has now published a book exploring what the great English language writers of the past still have to say to us today – and what lessons they can teach us about how to live a good life.

Inspired by her classes at the UvA on authors including William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, George Eliot and Jack Kerouac, Rossel presents in this book a modern and accessible take on reading the classics on English Literature. Shakespeare kent me beter dan mijn lief is a fantastic starting point for Dutch-speaking students and general readers who want to know more about the subject, or to take their reading further.

We congratulate Ibe on her success and look forward to seeing where her reading takes her next!
