Health related topics are at the core of scientific, political and public debates: like the impact of modern welfare diseases, the effectiveness of care systems and interventions, socio-economic factors that influence health, mental problems and more. At this conference researchers of the Faculty Social & Behavioural Sciences will share their expertise on the relation between health, behavior, social environment, policies and interventions.

Conference Highlights

The conference programme includes:

  • A keynote by psychiatrist Jim van Os on a more patient oriented approach in public mental health care.
  • Plenary research cases from the Social & Behavioural Sciences (with Anita Hardon, GeertJan Overbeek, Julia de Weert and Reinout Wiers)
  • Plenary panel on ‘Food, Health, and Sustainability’, reacting on recent reports that call for drastic changes in current and future consumption patterns. When we make healthy food choices this will not only benefit our own personal health but also our planet (with Ron Dahl, Joyeeta Gupta, Jaap Seidell and Sanne de Wit).
  • Parallel sessions, during which researchers from the Social & Behavioural Sciences will share new insights in short presentations.

Location and Registration

The conference will be organised at the Roeterseiland Campus in Amsterdam. Our registration desk will be located in the central entrance hall in building A.
