The results of the National Student Survey (NSE) 2024 have been announced! Of all the UvA students, 23% shared their opinions of the university and their degree programmes between January and March 2024. No less than 1,497 Bachelor’s and Master’s students at the Faculty of Science participated in the survey.

Out of all UvA faculties, the Faculty of Science received the highest overall satisfaction score from its students this year: 3.92 out of 5. The score was slightly below the 3.93 score in 2023. At the entire university students gave the UvA 3.86 for overall satisfaction with your programmes, just like the year before.

In addition to their general satisfaction, students also awarded scores to the university and their programmes on aspects such as the content of the programme and study counselling. Especially the atmosphere and the facilities at the Faculty of Science are highly appreciated, but the connection to a professional career could be improved.

How will the results be used?

The results of the NSE will be analysed throughout the UvA and used to improve the university. For instance, previous NSE results led to the creation of the UvA Job Board for students and alumni, and students can now see the results of course evaluations. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science also uses the results to provide information to prospective students at a national level.
