For more than 10 times in a row, the annual prize for the best publication of the academic year will be awarded to a young faculty researcher. The goal of the prize is to strengthen and support the research culture within the Amsterdam Law School and to give young researchers publicity for their work.

The following conditions apply 

1. the applicant is currently a PhD candidate or has received his/her PhD less than 5 years ago. The base date for this rule is 1 January 2025*;
2. the work submitted should be a published paper (books are not allowed) and only 1 paper per author can be submitted;
3. the publication must have been published between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2024.

All submissions will be judged by a jury consisting of 3 experts and they will assess the scientific originality, thoroughness, and the ‘cross-border nature’ of the publication.

 *In the case of care responsibilities, pregnancy or illness it is possible to receive an extension to the number of years after the PhD graduation. Please check the prize regulations.
