The Amsterdam Institute for International Development (AIID) and The World Bank are pleased to invite you to the lecture by mr. Ad Melkert (The Dutch Executive Director of the World Bank) about the dilemmas and future of debt relief. After the lecture, the winners of this year’s AIID/World Bank Thesis Competition will be announced.

- 15:30 - Speech by mr. Ad Melkert about the dilemmas and future of debt relief to the
poorest countries - 16:15 - Jury reports and granting of the awards by Prof. Jaques van der Gaag
- 16:45 - Drinks and informal continuation of the meeting
The prize for best PhD thesis consists of a guaranteed placement in the World Bank internship program in Washington and compensation of living expenses up to US$ 10,000. The first prize for the best Masters Thesis in International Development is US$ 2.000. The second prize is US $ 1.000.
