Labour Migration into the Netherlands: profit or loss

There exists a strange gap between the opinion of Brussels and The Hague regarding the future immigration of labour migrants. The EU commission sees it as a condition for future economic growth while the Dutch government and virtually all Dutch political parties see immigration as a threat.
In my contribution, I will analyse the pros and cons of emigration for the sending countries, as well as the drawbacks and benefits of immigration for the receiving countries such as the Netherlands.
In my conclusion, I will point out that there are no viable alternatives for labour migration and that we should put a legal infrastructure into place to allow immigration, to differentiate between highly skilled, skilled and non-skilled immigration in order to avoid the disastrous results of the previous influx of labour migrants.
