Theoretical literature predicts that the chance of selling a home decreases the longer the home is on the market. The chance of removing the home from the market then increases. De Wit tests this prediction using emperical data and his findings confirm the prediction. The asking price has no binding role in the Dutch housing market and therefor plays no role if the market is characterised by symmetrical information between buyers and sellers.
