Programme director Mark van der Veen: ‘this accreditation allows us to make changes to the programme’s content. We can now provide more possibilities for students to introduce their work experience in the lectures.’
On 29 February 2012, the University of Amsterdam was definitively granted accreditation by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO: Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie). Previously, this study programme fell under the accreditation of the Master in Business Studies.
There have been significant changes in the programme over the last few years. Student intake grew from 40 to 50 students per year to 100.
The intention is to expand the programme even further. Preparations are already underway for offering accredited specialised programmes in Strategy, Marketing and HRM. During the accreditation process, the Business Studies programme was praised for its academic quality and the enthusiasm of both students and lecturers.
