As an international student, it might be difficult to find a job here. Students from non-EU countries (and Croatia) will need a work permit, before they can work legally in the Netherlands. If you do wish to look for a student job, there are a number of things you should know.
After graduating from the UvA, international students can stay in the Netherlands to find a job. If you have an EU nationality, you do not need a permit for this. If you are a student from Croatia or a country outside the EEA you are allowed to spend a period of one year in the Netherlands to find a job as a highly skilled migrant. During this 'search year', you are not allowed to apply for benefits from the Dutch state, but you do have access to the Dutch labour market.
Once you're graduating and looking for career opportunities in the Netherlands or abroad you can refer to our Student Career Centre. They can help you with information, workshops and individual vocational counselling to find out what you want, get insight into your capabilities and competencies, make choices and improve your application skills in order to achieve your goals.
The Student Career Centre is specialized in advising international graduates on job seeking in the international labour market.
The UvA Job board is the job platform exclusively for UvA students and recent graduates where you can find internship and job vacancies.
