This morning at 12.00 an automatic fire alarm was activated on the fourth floor, due to a large amount of steam rising from a dish washer used for cleaning lab equipment.

The evacuation proceeded swiftly and within thirty minutes everybody could re-enter the building and return to work. The fire department was on the scene, but left without having to intervene. To prevent similar incidents in the future, an investigation will be conducted to determine how the fire alarm could be triggered so quickly.

All staff and students, as well as the Emergency Response Staff (BHV) are thanked for their cooperation and understanding.
