For you?

Have you lost a parent, sibling or other loved one? And has it been more than 6 months? This weekly support group offers opportunities for sharing personal grief experiences while also receiving support from others who have experienced the death of a loved one. Discover how to develop personal approaches to address emotions around grief and loss.

Dates and times 2021-2022

Monday 6 December 2021 from 10:00-12:00, Tuesday 11, 18, 25 January, 1, 8, 15 and 22 February 2022 from 13:00-15:00.

Good to know

  • A pre-screening with a student psychologist will take place before participation is possible; see the information below.
  • During a pre-screening the student psychologist will decide if the group meets your needs and is the most suitable form of counseling.
  • Attending all sessions is recommended. This is important both for yourself and for the other students who participate.

Practical information

  • Costs: This training is free of charge.
  • Location: Online
  • Language: This training is offered in English and is open to Dutch and English-speaking students.
  • Registration: You can register if you are currently studying at the UvA or the HvA or graduated no more than 1 year ago. Registration is possible 10 weeks up to 2 days in advance. Please note: Demand for this training often exceeds the available spots. We kindly ask you to register once you’re sure that you will attend only.
  • Participants and sessions: Minimum number of participants required is 6. Depending on the number of participants the number of sessions will be 8 or more (number of participants + 2).
