The need for an institutionalised approach to EU-level training of European diplomats has long been promoted among proponents of the greater role for Europe in the word. After the creation of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the 2016 EU Global Strategy and the 2022 EU Strategic Compass, the European Diplomatic Academy will be another important step towards strengthening the EU’s role as a Global Actor.

The project is led by the College of Europe and Dimitris will be one of the trainers for the European Diplomatic Academy delivering lectures on EU External Relations, Common Security and Defence Policy, European Neighbourhood Policy and EU-Middle East Relations.
