Applicants from another Dutch faculty or university

Finance

Please note that below requirements applied to the 2017/2018 intake and might change for the 2018-2019 intake. Check back again in October. Please read all requirements carefully. In the online application you will be asked to upload proof of all mentioned requirements.

1. Academic Bachelor's degree

Applicants holding the following degrees and courses are eligible to apply:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Economics from a Dutch university, the following courses are strict requirements:15 EC of courses in Finance, including a course in Investments + a course in Econometrics + basic courses in: accounting, monetary economics and international economics.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a Dutch university in Economics or Business Administration with a specialisation in Finance.
  • Bachelor's of PPLE with the Major E&B from the University of Amsterdam, provided that the EB-course “Investment and Portfolio Theory 1 (6012B0233Y)” has been completed.
  • These other bachelor's degrees normally lead to direct admission.

 

Students from other UvA faculties

  • Bachelor's of PPLE with the Major E&B, provided that the EB-course “Investment and Portfolio Theory 1 (6012B0233Y)” has been completed.

Not eligible to apply

There is no pre-Master's programme in Finance available for students holding a Bachelor's degree in other areas and who fail to meet (some of) the abovementioned admission requirements.

2. Motivation and initiative

Applicants are expected to have the intrinsic motivation to test and build upon this knowledge. Coursework is designed in keeping with this expectation and demands significant personal initiative and an active contribution on the part of the student. Applicants are asked to upload a motivation letter in their online application.
