Brendan O’ Dwyer, professor of Accounting in the Accounting Group at the Amsterdam Business School, has been inducted into the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (AAAJ)’ Accounting Research Hall of Fame.

The award recognizes ‘highly distinguished service contributions to the progress of interdisciplinary accounting research’ and requires the recipient to have ‘reached a position of eminence from which the nature of his or her contributions may be judged.’

O’Dwyer sits on the editorial boards of ten international academic journals and has been an Associate Editor of AAAJ since 2004. His work, encompassing almost 50 academic papers, has been published in a range of academic journals. ‘The Business School has always wholeheartedly supported my research and facilitated the transfer of my findings and theoretical ideas to students. This has greatly enhanced my teaching and student interaction and has led to a number of MSc students pursuing PhD studies under my supervision’.

O’Dwyer was surprised by the award. ‘I’m delighted to receive the recognition of my peers. I am privileged to work in a research environment in the Accounting section which is full of committed, world-class researchers and excellent PhD students.’
