The novel data sets used come from the Corporations and Human Rights Database-Latin America (CHRD). The CHRD is, to date, the most systematic and comprehensive source of data on allegations of corporate human rights abuse and victims’ access to grievance mechanisms in the Latin American region between 2000-2014. The intention is to use systematic data to help translate human rights commitments into targeted policies.
The paper was submitted to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in January 2020.
