Maartje van Gelder and Claire Judde de Larivière (Toulouse) received a conference grant (€3.000,-) from the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung für Wissenschatsförderung. The grant will be used to organize the conference "Disorder, Popular Politics and Social Cohesion in Early Modern Venice" on 7 and 8 October 2016 in Venice. The conference will bring together an international team of senior and junior scholars working on the socio-political history of Venice and is a collaboration between UvA, Toulouse, Warwick University and Venice International University.
