The Tinbergen Institute (TI) was named after the Nobel prize laureate professor Jan Tinbergen.
The Tinbergen Institute is a school for research and graduate education run jointly in collaboration with the Economics Faculties of the University of Amsterdam (UvA), VU University Amsterdam and the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR).
The TI has independent offices in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The Faculty of Economics and Business (est. 1922) has around 4,000 students. The Faculty has an excellent national and international reputation. It is among the top 10 research departments in Europe. The Faculty's research and teaching takes place in two schools: the Amsterdam School of Economics and the Amsterdam Business School.
