The first text we will discuss in the upcoming session is by Julienne Weegels and Yatun Sastramidjaja, and is tentatively titled “The Politics and Aesthetics of Digital Authoritarianism and Protest: An introduction”.

The second text is by Nermin Elsherif and Tasniem Anwar, and is titled “Serving the nation: Figurations of Disinformation in the Arab Social Media".

Following registration, you will receive the two texts as attachments. We would like to ask you to read these texts in advance to ensure a smooth and rich discussion, and to kindly refrain from sharing them publicly, as they include work in progress.

The discussion will be followed by drinks!

If you have any questions, drop us an e-mail on gdc@uva.nl. If you are interested in presenting a work-in-progress paper in the GDC research seminar series, please fill out the form below.
