The two-year Research Master’s programme Linguistics enables you to specialise in a wide range of linguistic sub-disciplines, and puts a sharp focus on methodological issues.
The linguistics community is unified within the Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication (ACLC), and also includes members of the Institute of Logic, Language and Communication (ILLC) and the Amsterdam Brain and Cognition (ABC). Linguistics at the UvA has been ranking highest in continental Europe in the QS World University Rankings by Subject since 2012. This rich research environment is a breeding ground for young and new talent in the field. The Research Master's in Linguistics provides the framework in which this talent can be nurtured and trained, resulting in linguists ready to embark upon a PhD project in The Netherlands or abroad, or start a job in education or industries requiring strong methodological and analytical skills.
