The Atlas Lab was festively opened on 15 September. In this collaboration, the scientific co-directors are Theo Gevers and Cees Snoek, with Martin Oswald as the lab manager.

The Atlas Lab is a collaboration between ‘location technology specialist’ TomTom and the Universiteit van Amsterdam. The public-private research lab focuses on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for developing advanced, highly accurate and safe high definition (HD) maps for self-driving vehicles. The lab is based at Amsterdam Science Park and is part of Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence ICAI.
