The State owned part of the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica is housed at the Allard Pierson, featuring a unique collection of approximately 4,400 rare manuscripts and printed works related to the Hermetic tradition up to 1900, gathered by Joost Ritman. Prior to the presentation of The Mage’s Images by Peter Forshaw, a special selection of books and manuscripts on esotericism will be on display in the research room. Researchers from the Centre for the History of Hermetic Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam and the Embassy of the Free Mind, alongside the curator, will provide insights in both English and Dutch: Corey Andrews, Meagan Baars, Tjalling Janssen, Amber Rozenrichter, and Gwendolyn Verbraak.
The Allard Pierson is the museum and knowledge institute for the heritage collections of the University of Amsterdam.
It is one of the UvA podia in the University Quarter.
