State-of-the art complexity science is used as a backbone to understand and intervene upon the complexities and dynamics of mental health problems in an urban environment, with special attention to common mental health problems and common mental health disorders.
The Center for Urban Mental Health (UMH) is one of the research focal points (RPA) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). This collaborative project is embedded in three of its faculties. In this way optimal use can be made of the knowledge and skills available within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (FMG), the Faculty of Medicine (A-UMC), and the Faculty of Science (FNWI), together with the Institute for Advanced Study at the UvA (IAS).
