    Carole Ammann holds a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Her thesis entitled 'Women, Agency, and the State in Guinea: Silent Politics' has recently been published by Routledge and is open access available  (https://www.routledge.com/Women-Agency-and-the-State-in-Guinea-Silent-Politics/Ammann/p/book/9780367189594). Carole Ammann currently holds a postdoctoral mobility fellowship by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to study globalised fatherhood in Guinea and the Netherlands. Previously, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geography at the University of Bern where she conducted a research on social differences in the Swiss healthcare sector (https://www.geography.unibe.ch/unibe/portal/fak_naturwis/e_geowiss/c_igeogr/content/e39603/e589412/e601694/e878691/e878694/Projektbeschrieb_Health_ger.pdf). Carole Ammann's main research interests are gender, femininities, masculinities, fatherhood, intersectionality, everyday life, urbanity, state and statehood, work, anthropological methods, and medical anthropology. Ammann has conducted research in Guinea, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
