I am a PhD candidate at the Department of History at the University of Amsterdam. My PhD project investigates the history of historical thought in the early earth sciences, historiography, and antiquarianism. It focuses on the intersection of cultural and natural concepts of time and history in the Netherlands in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. My research is funded by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). You can find a short introduction to one of my case studies (in Dutch) on the history of science blog Shells and Pebbles.
