    Mathijs Boom is a PhD candidate at the Department of Early Modern History at the University of Amsterdam. His PhD project investigates the history of historical thought in the early earth sciences, historiography and antiquarianism. It focusses on the intersection of cultural and natural concepts of time and history in Netherlands in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. This research is funded by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
