Biography: Pei-Sze Chow is Assistant Professor of Media and Culture and Director of the MA in Film Studies at the Department of Media Studies. She is the author of Transnational Screen Culture in Scandinavia: Mediating Regional Space and Identity in the Øresund Region (Palgrave, 2021) and co-editor of A History of Danish Cinema (Edinburgh UP, 2021).

Her current project, Automated Cinema: Technographic Explorations of AI in Film Culture, centres on the impact and ethics of the use of AI technologies in film production. She has been invited to speak on this topic in Hong Kong, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. She also works on topics relating to transnational geopoiltics and the cinemas of small nations, spatial, media-geographic approaches to film and media research, and cities and peripheries on film and television. She has published and co-edited work on Nordic noir television drama and geopolitics, and representations of urban space and architecture on film.
