My research used to center around fMRI studies on mental health. Yet it became clear to me that the progress in this type of biological psychiatry research is slow, and I would argue, much slower than expected one or two decades ago. This type of research also has had limited effect on improving clinical practice. I got the opportunity to work as a data scientist in mental health care and focus on clinical data science applications. My research line will now focus on methodological, theoretical, and clinical questions on how clinical practice can be supported with a data-driven approach.
