    Dr. Rebeca Fernández Rodríguez is an internationally renowned scholar in the fields of linguistic, translation, language acquisition and cultural contact, areas in which she has established world-leading research trajectories. She is the National Coordinator of Masterlanguage Spanish. She is affiliated with the Historical Linguistics research group of the Amsterdam Centre of Language and Communication (ACLC).  This academic association brings together expert scholars from different countries and is unique in investigating older texts (colonial, postcolonial, missionary and non-missionary, word lists of travellers and historians) with the following objectives: historical linguistics, the history of linguistics, sociocultural analysis, and translation studies.

    Since September 2018 she is the desk editor of ERLACS (European Review of Latin America and Caribbean Studies) and since 2019 editor of Language & History
