I am a University Teacher at the Philosophy Department. My academic work is located in the intersection of philosophy and history, focussing on the fields of intellectual history, philosophy of history, political theory and history of economic thought. My primary interest is the history and philosophy of scientific expertise and the influence it has on democratic political practices. More specific, I research how the economic sciences have shaped the images of the future in politics in the 19th and 20th century. Topics I am working on include: regimes of historicity, economic policy, technocracy, neoliberalism and theory of state.
In 2021, I received my PhD on a philosophical analysis of the history of Dutch Economic Planning entitled Prediction and Predicament: Historicity, the State and Socio-Economic Planning in the Netherlands, 1917—1999.
