Malin Olofsson is a PhD candidate in the Governance and Inclusive Developement (GID) programme group of the AISSR. Her research focuses on the emerging political and social dynamics of expanding tree-crops commodification amongst smallholders in Venda, South Africa.
She holds an MA in Agrarian and Environmental studies from the International Institute of Social studies in The Hague and an Honours degree in Development Studies from Unisa, South Africa. She has over 12 years’ experience working in the development sector across Africa, primarily in the areas of workers’ rights, smallholder farmers development, certification and small business development. Her expertise is as a trainer/facilitator and a researcher.
