Loes Pouwels is een postdoctorale onderzoeker aan de Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) en Center for research on Children, Adolescents, and the Media (CcaM).

In 2018 behaalde zij cum laude haar PhD titel nadat zij haar dissertatie “the group process of bullying; developmental, methodological, and social-cognitive perspectives” succesvol verdedigd had.
