Dr. Crelis Rammelt is universitair docent op het gebied van milieu-geografie en ontwikkelingsstudies aan de afdeling Geografie, Planologie en Internationale Ontwikkelingsstudies van de Faculteit Maatschappij & Gedrag. Hij geeft ook les aan het Instituut voor Interdisciplinaire Studies van de Faculteit der Natuurwetenschappen, Wiskunde en Informatica. Zijn onderzoek en onderwijs zijn gericht op het leggen van verbanden tussen disciplines, voornamelijk op het gebied van politieke ecologie, postontwikkeling, degrowth en systeemwetenschap. Crelis is ook betrokken geweest bij het oprichten van het Nederlandse degrowth-platform Ontgroei en leidt een actieonderzoek- en sociaal rechtvaardigheidsprogramma met ontwikkelingsorganisaties in Bangladesh.
