  • Biography

I am an urban researcher, spatial planner and architect. I graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro as an architect and urbanist in 2007 and completed in 2010 my master study with a GSD Fellowship (Geneva School of Diplomacy) focusing on urban public policies. Since then I have worked developing a multidisciplinary approach in my research practice. In 2014, I was awarded a CAPES scholarship to pursue my doctoral education at the Delft University of Technology that looked into how self-organised initiatives could increase resilience in fragmented cities, which was concluded in 2019. I received a Comenius Teaching Fellow (NWO) in 2020 to explore innovative practices to connect online and on-campus urbanism students from TU Delft.

My research focuses on commoning practices, community engagement and participatory processes, and I have experience with innovative educational practices. As of 1 April 2021, and for the coming two years, started to work with the CUS to broaden the Centre’s research on the threats and opportunities that major socio-cultural, economic, political, environmental and technological changes pose to the maintenance and enhancement of the Urban Commons.
