'Companies encourage students with internships and career days'

Catalina Grujdin - Romania

‘What really got me interested in the University of Amsterdam was knowing that 176 different nationalities live in this vibrant city. I was aware that I would be an international student in a foreign country, but knowing that the city was so incredibly diverse made me feel like I could belong here. The great reputation that precedes the university was also a key factor when it came to choosing the University of Amsterdam. Not only was I going to live in a beautiful city, but I would study at the best university in the Netherlands.'

'Studying in Amsterdam has been a rewarding experience on many levels. I was able to be part of a large community of international students and learn about the differences between people and how they unite us. I know now that after I finish my degree, whenever and wherever I’ll travel, there will always be a couch waiting for me and a friend to catch up with.'

'Amsterdam also has many career opportunities, as many multinational companies have their headquarters here and encourage students with the many internships and career days available throughout the year. The possibilities are endless. I have learned to take it one day at a time, but for now,  I am really looking forward to carrying out a one-semester Erasmus exchange at the University of Edinburgh.'
