Study associations

College of Social Sciences

To meet fellow students and take part in social and study-related activities, you can become a member of a student association, join events organised by Machiavelli, or visit the UvA's Sports Centre or CREA.

Student association Machiavelli

Each discipline within the College of Social Sciences has its own student association. The student association for Political Science is Machiavelli, which organises social and study-related events and plays an important role in the Department.

Student representation

There are several representative bodies for students at the UvA. The Central Student Council and Faculty Student Council represent student's interests on a central and faculty level. You can also apply for the Political Science Programme Committee (PC).The PC is a committee consisting of students and lecturers who talk about issues surrounding the study programme. The committee gives advice to the Department and the Board.

Sport, culture and other student organisations

If you would like to go to a sports and fitness centre before or after class, you can visit the University Sports Centre (USC). Would you rather take up a creative course in photography or theatre, for example? If so, visit CREA, the cultural organisation of the UvA.

For other options to meet fellow students, check the list with student organisations.
