Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the Bachelor's programme in Psychology. You will find a lot of answers here about enrollment, Studielink, requirements, the application form and the application outcome.
In order to protect everyone against the spreading of the Covid-19 virus, on-campus activities at the UvA are temporarily cancelled. Unfortunately, this makes it a bit more difficult to choose a Bachelor's programme and university. In order to help you with making a good choice, we offer a few online alternatives.
Our application portal Studielink will be open from 1 October 2020 till 15 January 2021. The application deadline for the Psychology Bachelor's programme starting in September 2020 has passed.
We offer 650 places.
We are currently updating the entry requirements for 2021-2022. As of September 2020, these will be available on the website.
All information about accepted diploma’s and grades can be found in the diploma calculator. If no specific grades are mentioned, you do not need to obtain specific grades to meet the entry requirements. You then only have to pass your exams to be eligible for admission.
Whether or not you meet the requirements is something we can check after having received your application. We do not do pre-checks of your curriculum to see whether you are eligible.
It is initially up to your judgement to see if you meet the requirements for the Bachelor’s programme in Psychology. We know this may be difficult being a student from another country. However, we can only evaluate your file once we have received your entire application.

If you have a deficiency in mathematics, you are able to take an additional exam to make up the deficiency. An example of such an exam is the mathematics A exam of the James Boswell Institute. We do not accept SAT-scores. Unfortunately, we haven't found a suitable online math test yet.
In order to be eligible, you have to meet the academic requirements as listed on the entry requirements page. Work experience can be an addition to, but no substitute, for the academic requirements.
We don’t have special entry requirements for mature students. Every student needs to meet the requirements to be able to participate in the selection procedure.
We use a standard application form that is used by several programmes of the UvA. There is no application fee for the Bachelor’s programme of Psychology, so you can ignore that message.
Dates for the selection test will be available from September 2020.
You cannot retake the selection test. Every participant can only take the test once.
You will receive your ranking number on 15 April 2020.
We have 650 places. Anyone who receives an offer has 14 days to accept or decline the offer. If no action is taken after 14 days, the offer will expire. As soon as an offer is declined or expired, a place becomes available for a new student. Your ranking number does not change, so even with ranking numbers above 650 it is possible to get an offer.

Yes, the lectures, materials and exams are in English. The tutorials are offered in both English and Dutch.
