The Master’s track Ecology and Evolution builds on the internationally renowned research of the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED). Teaching and learning activities are firmly integrated with the current research. The two-year curriculum covers a variety of topics in different disciplines, including evolutionary ecology, modelling of biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics, data analysis and statistics, paleo-ecology, microbial ecology, genomics, spatial ecology and conservation.

The entry requirements and the application procedure for this Master’s track depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad.

Up to, but no more than, 110 students are admitted to the Master’s programme as a whole. If more than the maximum number of candidates are found suitable, candidates will be selected on (in random order):

• Study programme
• GPA score
• Study progress Bachelor’s programme
• Subject of Bachelor’s thesis
• Motivation 

All tracks of the Master's programme Biological Sciences are offered as a full-time programme. Due to the nature of the study programme, it isn’t possible to study in part-time.

The application process and the deadline depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad.  We strongly recommend to start the application procedure at least a week before the deadline. Getting all your documents ready and going through the process will take several days.
