Business Administration: Transition Minor

This minor provides a thorough introduction to the various sub-areas of the Business Economics/Business Administration programme. The purpose of this minor is to give students with a related bachelor's or master's degree programme the opportunity to follow the pre-Master’s programme for the Master's in Business Administration as a minor within the current study programme.

What will you learn in this minor?

Having business knowledge is indispensable in every workplace as you will often be faced with all kinds of questions like:

  • How should a marketing plan be made?
  • Does the organisation function properly according to the goals set by the division or should something change?
  • Does the organisation have sufficient staff to achieve the goals? How can new employees be attracted and selected?
  • How can the organisation react to changes in the market (e.g. new competitors)?

A minor at the Business Administration department provides you with a good basis to be able to think about these types of issues and to work with the professionals in this field. Students who followed the minors at the Business Administration department can then operate in local, national and international companies.

Transferring to the Master Business Administration

With a completed transition minor at the UvA Economics and Business, you comply with the minimum requirements for admission to the Master's degree. However, in order to be admitted there are more requirements you have to meet. In addition, the master is selective.
