In the European Law minor, students acquire understanding of how the institutions of the European Union operate to adopt new rules and how these rules affect individuals - companies or individual citizens. The introduction course covers the functioning of EU institutions, the constitutional principles of the Union and the structure of the market freedoms. Teaching in the minor is organized around current challenges facing the European Union, so that students are encouraged to develop an interest in current political developments. The minor also offers an overview of the major sub-fields of contemporary EU law, including constitutional and institutional law, internal market, competition law, fundamental rights and EU external relations.

This minor is offered by the Faculty of Humanities. The faculty’s minors consist of 30 ECTS credits and earn you a second qualification that will be listed on the transcript accompanying your degree certificate.
