Rethinking the Future of Work

Employment is changing dramatically. The rise of the platform economy has introduced a convenient way to match those in need of services to those who can offer them, and all with a click of a button. The number of so called 'gig workers' or 'platform workers' is rising. Therefore, we wonder, what will the future of work look like?

On 19 and 20 October, academics, policymakers, business leaders and platform workers will come together to experience the future of work and find ways to shape it.

The University of Amsterdam, in collaboration with shareNL and Leiden University, will convene this group of people during a two-day conference held in Amsterdam. This international and multidisciplinary conference offers a vibrant space to collectively rethink work in the platform economy. Participants will get the latest insights, not only from policymakers, academics and business leaders, but also from gig workers themselves.

Start programme: Thursday 19 October at 8:30.
Ending on Friday 20 October at 17:00.

Please be aware that the gates to Science Park parking lots closest to AUC (all designated with P1 on the map here) close at 19.00. There are also parking lots at Science Park that do not close at 19.00 (P3 and P7 on the map here). You can find more information on the fees for parking at Science Park via the link below.

Another parking option is at the Radioweg, just in front of the entrance to the Jaap Eden IJsbaan. Here, you can park for a price of 10 cents per hour for a maximum of four hours from Monday - Saturday between 9.00-21.00. From this parking area, AUC is about a 10 minute walk away.
