On Wednesday 20 November Room for Discussion, the interview platform organised by students of Economics & Business, will be teaming up with Machiavelli, the study association of Political Science, to host a special interview with the president-elect of the European Council, Charles Michel.

UvA alumnus Charles Michel was Prime Minister of Belgium between 2014 and October this year. He was elected as the next President of the European Council on 2 July 2019 and will take up this position on 1 December.

Apart from touching on the president-elect’s prior experience at the UvA, the interviewers will also dive into the topics of Europe Divided, the European Project, Europe’s Global Position and, ultimately, what his position as the next president of the European Council will mean for the Union in the coming years.
