Housing for international students

Like most Dutch universities, the University of Amsterdam does not have a campus, and demand for student housing in Amsterdam is very high. It is a challenge to find suitable accommodation, and therefore it is important to arrange your accommodation as soon as possible. To assist international students in finding appropriate accommodation, the university has signed agreements with various housing corporations. These corporations offer furnished accommodation to students for one or two semesters only. Sheets and blankets are available at cost price. The rent for these rooms varies according to type, size and location.

Student housing locations

In total, the UvA has more than 1,700 rooms to allot to international students. The university accommodation is located in different areas of Amsterdam and Diemen. Locations can range from a flat with many other students in Zuid-Oost  to small scale accommodation in the city centre. However, it is not possible to apply for certain locations. All different places can be reached from the city center within 20 minutes by public transport
