European and International Labour Law is a unique master track in Europe; only in Amsterdam can you take a full programme dedicated to international labour relations and the influence of EU labour directives and social rights on national legislation. With demand rising steadily for specialised international labour lawyers due to increased worker mobility and global sourcing, students sometimes even receive job offers before graduation.
The University of Amsterdam performs well in international rankings and the Amsterdam Law School draws students from around the world. Consequently, the European and International Labour Law programme attracts students from various European countries as well as the US, South-Africa, Australia and Asia, so you will share classes with students who have first-hand knowledge of labour conditions in other countries. This gives extra appeal to courses such as Comparative Labour Law and Social Dialogue and Collective Bargaining.
Although the programme is not an elective one, the group of students is relatively small (up to 30 at the most), offering students more than sufficient personal attention to promote a successful completion of the programme.
Degree certificate
European and International Labour Law is a track of the accredited degree programme Labour Law. After succesful completion of this programme, you will receive a legally accredited Master’s degree in Lanour Law and the title Master of Laws (LLM).
