Orhan Agirdag (PhD in Sociology) is an assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam. He is also associated to KU Leuven and a former Fulbright Fellow at the UCLA. His main research interests include inequalities in education, teacher education, multilingualism and religiosity. Orhan Agirdag received various prestigious awards. He is an author of more than 100 publications that are cited over 600 times. As a multilingual researcher, he writes in English, Dutch and Turkish. Currently, Orhan Agirdag holds the chair of scientific research at the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO). Professor Agirdag is regularly invited to give public talks and his opinions are regularly featured in the media.
