Here's why you want to study Molecular Sciences in Amsterdam

Research-focused

Encompasses all fundamental areas including organic and inorganic chemistry, catalysis, physical chemistry, and theoretical chemistry.

Custom-designed curriculum

Custom-design the curriculum and select from numerous fundamental and specialised courses offered by internationally recognised experts.

From atoms to molecular design and engineering

Deep-dive into fundamental topics, that allows to rationally design compound with specific properties, understand reaction mechanisms, and observe and understand interaction of light with matter.

In-depth specialisation

In a specific area like Molecular Design, Synthesis, Catalysis, Spectroscopy or Theory and Modelling.

Molecular Sciences will suit you, if you...

  1. Have a solid background in the core disciplines of chemistry.
  2. Are interested in using the molecule as the starting point for gaining fundamental insights about materials and chemical, biological and physical processes.
  3. Want to move from understanding chemical and physical processes, to predicting and controlling them.
  4. Are eager to apply your knowledge and skills in areas of fundamental importance to society such as energy, sustainability, health and materials sciences.
  5. Want the benefits of a small-scale programme in which students and staff are in close contact.
