  1. You are able to conduct research independently, formulate functional research questions, collect material, analyse cultural or historical sources, apply theory and write a thesis.
  2. You are familiar with humanities methods and approaches to the study of European history and culture.
  3. You are interested in the contemporary state of Europe, including phenomena like nationalism, populism, migration, transnationalism, as well as literature, film and the arts. 
  4. You are keen to immerse yourself in a vibrant, international teaching and research environment, and engage with cultural institutions, festivals and events in the Netherlands and abroad.
