Functie

Prof.dr. Patti M. Valkenburg is universiteitshoogleraar Media, Jeugd en Samenleving aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Haar werk is bekroond met diverse prijzen, waaronder een Vici subsidie (2003), een ERC Advanced Grant (2009), een Spinozapremie (2011)  en een Zwaartekrachtsubsidie (2012, met prof.dr. Chantal Kemner (UU) en vier andere hoogleraren).

 

Valkenburg is lid van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen en Associate Editor van Human Communication Research. Haar bekendste Nederlandse boeken zijn Beeldschermkinderen (2002, 2008) en Schermgaande jeugd (2014).
