I am Associate Professor Corporate Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) and the College and Graduate School of Communication Science. My research involves studies in corporate communication and public relations, especially regarding corporations and the news media, the dynamics of business news and crisis communication. Since 2008 I am a member of the research team of the European Communication Monitor (ECM), an annual survey among corporate communication professionals in Europe about trends and issues in the profession. I started working as a communication scientist following a career in public relations practice amongst others at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
