Gender and Sexuality

Minor

The minor Gender and Sexuality studies power relations based on gender and sexuality from an interdisciplinary social science perspective. It examines how such power is structured and how it shapes social and political life, both in the public and in the private sphere.

For whom?

This minor is interesting for students who like to obtain:

  • knowledge of the key concepts and theoretical debates in gender- and sexuality studies,
  • knowledge of the political, societal and scientific legacies of gender/sexuality-focused activism;
  • basic knowledge of the central methodological debates and challenges in the field;
  • analytical skills to critically study and interpret historical or present day, political and societal problems through gender, sexuality and intersectional lenses,
  • the ability to apply gender, sexuality and/or intersectional lenses in the own major.

Entry requirements

Completed 60 ECTS from a bachelor’s programme. A completed first year of applied sciences (HBO) does not grant access to the minor.
