What happens in your brain and body when you experience stress? In this mini lecture, you will discover how the stress hormone cortisol helps your body cope with acute stress, and what can change when stress persists over a longer period. We will zoom in from the brain and behaviour to processes at the cellular level. You will also see what you will investigate yourself during the Cell Biology practical in the first year of the Psychobiology programme.
